My photography has appeared in a lot of different places but nothing quite compares to the buzz you get when a publication pays you the ultimate compliment - to splash one of your photos on their front cover! I've been fortunate enough to have bagged a few covers over the years and it never gets dull.
April has got off to a great start with the arrival on my doorstep this morning of the latest issue of Scuba Diver magazine, a publication that I've worked with since it's very first issue back in 2017. I'm delighted to announce that the latest issue not only contains six pages of my photography (more on that shortly) but, best of all, I got the cover! Featuring Scuba Diver's very own art director Matt Griffiths on modelling duties, the image was captured at Vobster Quay in Somerset back in November of last year. What you don't see is just how painfully cold Matt was when we captured this image - the poor guy's drysuit had failed and was slowly filling up with icey cold water! Kudos to him for not bailing earlier - would have hopped out a lot sooner, that's for sure!
Elsewhere in the issue is a six-page report on the simply awesome Go Diving Show held back on the weekend of the 28th Feburary at the NAEC Stoneleigh near Coventry. The Go Diving Show is one of the annual gigs I look forward to the most. If you're a UK-based scuba diver then the Go Diving Show really should be in your diary. It's a great place to check out all the latest dive gear and, of course, catch some great presentations from a diverse line up of speakers like Steve Backshall, Liz Parkinson and Chris Lemmons - the man behind the jaw-dropping story that inspired the movie 'Last Breath'.
